The primary objective of the NIFTY Smallcap 50 Index is to capture the movement of the smallcap segment of the market. The index represents top 50 companies selected based on average daily turnover from the top 100 companies selected based on full market capitalisation in NIFTY Smallcap 250 index.

Market Representation

• The NIFTY Smallcap 50 Index represents about 2% of the free float market capitalization of the stocks listed on NSE as on March 29, 2019.
• The total traded value for the last six months ending March 2019, of all index constituents is approximately 4.7% of the traded value of all stocks on NSE.
