Overview
Set up in 2012, the NSE-NYU Stern Initiative, a product of the collaboration between Stern School of Business, New York University and National Stock Exchange (NSE) of India, aims at creating an environment where the academia and the finance industry complement each other to provide research support for effective policy making. The NSE - NYU annual conference is part of this initiative. Over the years, it has evolved to be one of the most prestigious conferences on financial markets in India. The 2023 conference marks the tenth successful year of the Initiative. Past speakers include Michael Spence, Nouriel Roubini, Michael Kremer, Yakov Amihud, Raghuram Rajan, and Arvind Subramanian, among others.
Every year, the Initiative supports six research projects which are screened from international submissions received in response to a Call for papers. The papers are reviewed thoroughly before and after the Conference as well as discussed at the Conference by independent referees. The final papers are then published on NSE’s website for greater benefit under the NSE-NYU Working Paper Series. Some of the papers have also been published in finance and economics journals of international repute.
The NSE-NYU conference provides a great platform to engage with top-notch academics and practitioners in the world of Finance.
